To speak out as a Christian in Egypt is to court persecution, possible arrest or worse. Because of this reality, we’ve received an urgent request from Egypt: a brother and his family in Egypt who are facing a crisis simply because of their outspoken faith.
Ehab Eid Wahba is a Christian activist. He was arrested on July 18 in front of his wife and children. When his wife, Ivon, asked for the reason for the arrest, the officers refused to tell her. Ivon can only assume Ehab was taken for expressing his opinions.
Police would not tell her where they were taking her husband, and his fate and whereabouts are unknown at this time. Ehab hasn't been actually been prosecuted, so there are no public details about his case.
Ivon has sent a complaint to the Attorney General of Egypt, asking for attention to her husband’s case.
Pray with this family as they appeal for information and mercy for Ehab Eid Wahba.
Ask God to protect Ehab while he is in custody, especially since he is currently held without charges or even acknowledgment of his location.
Pray God will put His arms around Ivon and the children as they wait anxiously for news of their husband and dad.
Ask that God bring about a speedy release and return this brother to his family and community.
